DIY Yarn Doll

We've been finding lots of fun things to do and make using Pinterest.  But this next craft idea was found the old fashioned way, by reading a craft book.

Monday is library day for us.  While browsing the bookshelves I happened to see several American Girl Doll Craft books.  Well, Sweetie Pie loves to do crafts, and loves her American Girl Doll, so I just had to check them all out.

She looked through the books herself and decided the first thing she was going to make would be a yarn doll.  She needed minimal assistance from me (mostly tying, and hot gluing).  I love it that she's old enough to follow directions to make her own crafts.  Even though she follows the directions, she still likes to put her own spin on things.  So instead of making this doll have legs or pants, she made it have a dress.

If you need to keep your little girl busy this summer, I highly recommend these American Girl Doll Craft Books.  Check them out through your local library or buy them through my amazon store (affiliate links below).  Clicking on the link below each picture will take you to amazon.com where you can read more about them.
