A Different Kind of Advent

We didn't do an Advent calendar this year.  I don't know why, I just didn't get out our muffin tin one, or buy one.  The kids didn't even seem to notice.  Just because we aren't doing an Advent calendar, doesn't mean we aren't doing something daily to celebrate Christmas.  We have been watching the videos from the 12 Days of Social as well as other church videos and music videos about the birth of Jesus.  Videos seem to be a great way to capture my kids attention.  And if they are watching and listening to something, that means they aren't pestering each other and it makes for a more pleasant evening all around.

Speaking of videos, the church has put out 25 Christmas GIFs.  GIFs are a type of animated file format. These GIFs are dedicated to celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Download and share these animated GIFs with those you love this Christmas season.

If I were a little more on top of things, I would have used these GIFs as an animated Advent calendar.  As it was, we ended up watching them all in one night.  It was a fun way to tell the story of Jesus's birth.  I have gathered them all together for you to watch and share.  Enjoy!

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise.
